sci-fi club
Sci-Fi Club, a weekly date for all science-fiction (and more) lovers, started in March 2007 and has been showing genre masterpieces and undiscovered film treasures since. The video screenings take place on Thursday nights at La Cappella Underground headquarters in Via Economo, 12/9, in Trieste.
Referring back to the tradition behind the restoration of the Trieste Science-Fiction International Film Festival in the year 2000, La Cappella Underground intends to feed interested viewers and fans the word of science-fiction on a weekly basis, even outside the big November showcase of Science+Fiction. An unusual formula, aiming at the exploration of a lively world still relatively unknown. Through the weekly forays into contemporary genre films and the rarities from the past, the Science+Fiction staff map out the route leading viewers to the Festival. In order to discover the routes and the new frontiers explored by the Sci-Fi Club spaceship, viewers can check the events schedule, where the weekly film screenings are listed.
Exploration of the science-fiction universe includes films from everywhere in the world, from the Far East to the Old Continent, and the US independent film productions. Among the scheduled films, some have already captured the audience of Science+Fiction, others have never been shown before in Italy. Some have gone completely unnoticed in Italy. And cult movies are rediscovered.
On Thursdays at La Cappella Underground, therefore, there’s sci-fi for all tastes.
